Managed Services & Recurring Support

Managed support begins with a system that can be understood. We onboard networks, AV, controls, and related connected systems by inventorying assets, securing administrative access, capturing configurations, and writing a runbook for common faults. Monitoring is then tied to actionable conditions and named owners; a dashboard full of unactionable alarms is not operational coverage.

Service can be structured as a recurring agreement or scoped incident work, depending on the environment. In both cases, changes are recorded, backups are maintained where the platform supports them, and on-site activity follows the licensing boundary of the task. The emphasis is repeatable diagnosis and clear escalation rather than promises that every third-party carrier, cloud service, or aging device can be kept continuously available.

What we deliver

  • Asset inventory recording model, serial, software or firmware, support status, location, network identity, owner, and dependencies
  • Configuration backups and recovery notes for supported network, control, DSP, gateway, NVR, and management platforms
  • Remote monitoring designed around reachability, health, capacity, environmental, service, and configuration conditions that merit action
  • Alert routing with severity, maintenance windows, dependencies, acknowledgement ownership, and escalation contacts defined during onboarding
  • Controlled firmware and software maintenance using compatibility review, backups, scheduled windows, validation, and rollback planning
  • Incident records capturing symptoms, evidence, actions, changed settings, replaced components, outcome, and follow-up work
  • Periodic health review for capacity, recurring faults, unsupported equipment, credential ownership, documentation drift, and lifecycle risk
  • Dispatch coordination distinguishing remote remediation, eligible minor work, licensed trade work, carrier issues, and vendor escalation

How we approach it

ONBOARD

Onboarding establishes the support boundary. We collect diagrams and prior records, inspect accessible equipment, enumerate assets, verify management paths, identify external vendors, and rank operational dependencies. Missing credentials, obsolete components, undocumented changes, and unsafe recovery assumptions are reported rather than silently accepted. The runbook defines normal states, maintenance windows, alert contacts, escalation paths, and evidence needed before a remote action or dispatch is authorized.

MONITOR

Monitoring and backup tools are configured only for supported platforms and approved access. Checks are tuned to distinguish a device failure from an upstream internet, power, or authentication problem. Alerts receive severity, suppression, dependency, and routing rules; configuration snapshots receive clear dates and device identities. Administrative access follows named accounts and appropriate privilege where platform capability allows, reducing reliance on credentials held by one employee or former installer.

RESPOND

Response is remote-first when evidence supports a safe corrective action. If physical work is needed, the incident is converted into a defined dispatch scope with affected assets, likely cause, access requirements, and validation steps. Carrier and manufacturer cases include collected logs so escalation does not restart discovery.

REPORT

Every resolved incident ends with service validation at the affected layer and at least one user-relevant function. Maintenance windows include post-change checks and documented rollback decisions. Periodic reports summarize notable incidents, recurring causes, monitoring gaps, firmware or support exposure, capacity concerns, and recommended projects without disguising estimates as emergencies. The asset list, diagrams, runbook, and backups are updated after changes so support quality does not decay over time.

Frequently asked questions

Can GGIS manage a system installed by another provider?

Potentially, after onboarding. We need lawful administrative access, an inventory, current configuration evidence, and a clear support boundary. Unsupported, unsafe, or undocumented conditions are listed before recurring service begins. Some platforms also restrict access to an incumbent dealer or require vendor cooperation. We do not claim control of a system until access and recovery procedures have actually been verified.

Does remote monitoring guarantee that a service will not go down?

No. Monitoring can detect supported conditions and speed diagnosis, but it cannot prevent every hardware fault, utility interruption, carrier outage, cloud failure, software defect, or unauthorized change. Its value comes from meaningful checks, dependency-aware alerts, retained evidence, and a defined response process. Resilience must be designed separately with appropriate redundancy and tested recovery procedures.

How are firmware updates handled?

We review release relevance, known dependencies, platform compatibility, backup availability, maintenance timing, and rollback options before updating. Critical infrastructure is not placed on indiscriminate automatic updates unless the client has explicitly chosen that policy and understands the platform behavior. After a change, we verify device health and affected services, record versions, and update the runbook if recovery steps changed.

When is an appropriately licensed contractor involved?

The decision depends on the actual physical scope, not whether the incident began as IT support. The dispatch record identifies the required work, responsible parties, and validation steps before field work proceeds.
